Setting Moon over Mount Whitney and Alabama Hills, Eastern Sierra
I photographed this scene on a chilly February morning in the Alabama Hills. Originally I had planned to photograph the moonset at sunrise, but the moon remained too high at first light. Yet sunrise was beautiful that morning, with the entire Sierra range glimmering with a fresh blanket of snow after a storm the day before. You can read more about that trip here.
